Depression is on the increase….

In our modern society depression is on the increase. Depression is one of the country’s most debilitating illnesses with more than one million Australians experiencing an episode every year.

Depression is not a weakness, a personality flaw or a sign of failure because we all have those days when we just feel miserable or down. Usually we cope with these feelings and they pass.

Clinical depression brings with it an intense sadness or despair that affects everyday life. For some this may mean keeping away from social activities or friendships. For others it may mean difficulties at work, school or in daily interactions with people.

As you probably know, clinical depression is more severe than just having the blues or feeling sad for no reason at all. You can’t just snap out of it. It’s important to remember that depression is a medical illness and therefore maybe possible to get better.

Hypnotherapy treatment for depression….

Hypnotherapy may assist with addressing the underlying cause as well as helping individuals to develop more effective coping and behavioural skills. It may also help sufferers achieve a happier mood and decrease or dispel the pessimistic and negative thoughts that generally accompany depression.

Hypnotherapy treatment for this disorder will typically use a combination of positive suggestion and imagery tools which may bring about positive change in the unconscious mind of the depressed individual. People who undergo hypnosis treatment for this disorder will often experience a new sense of freedom and a greater sense of control over their thoughts, their mood, and their life in general*.

Anxiety and depression

Since anxiety often goes hand in hand with depression, hypnosis may be beneficial because it may help to reduce and often alleviate the anxious thoughts and feelings. Rather than remaining stuck in the vicious cycle of painful thoughts and feelings of guilt, worthlessness and hopelessness, hypnosis may help the person to develop a more positive outlook by using powerful self-empowering suggestion techniques. Rather than going through life reacting to difficult situations that would previously have felt overwhelming or hopeless, the individual learns how to respond positively.

As they progress through hypnosis depression sessions, many people find themselves achieving things they never dreamed possible in their personal and professional lives. Feeling more motivated and charged with enthusiasm for living life*.

Hypnosis may be able to show you how to lift your depression and prevent it from returning. Getting help with depression may help a whole avenue of opportunities to appear in your life*.
